Some Spurs fans are left impressed by academy player’s display

Tottenham’s U-18s thrashed their Fulham counterparts 4-1 in a Premier League U-18 fixture on Saturday with the youngsters putting on quite a show.

Harvey White, in particular, put in an excellent display in the middle of the park and his showing has got some Spurs fans extremely excited.

The versatile 18-year-old started in central midfield and completely dictated the game right from kick-off. He helped the side fashion several chances and netted a brace from the penalty spot.

White has really kicked on from the impressive campaign he had last time out and has been in excellent form for both the U-18s as well as the U-23s this season, netting three goals each (Soccerway).

The silky left-footer is quite versatile and featured for the first team at left-back during the club’s pre-season tour of the Far East under Mauricio Pochettino.

His performance on Saturday left some Spurs fans impressed thus leading to calls for him to be included in the first team.

With Danny Rose and Ben Davies both out injured, one would have thought the FA Cup tie against Middlesbrough would have been a good time to name White at least as part of the matchday squad but Mourinho has obviously decided otherwise. A loan to a Championship or a League One club next season could really help his development along.
