Some Tottenham fans are divided over whether Mauricio Pochettino taking over at Real Madrid will be good news for the Lilywhites.
According to reports in Spain, Zinedine Zidane’s future at Real Madrid is under threat following the Spanish giants’ loss to Shakhtar Donetsk has left them on the brink of elimination from the Champions League.
Former Tottenham manager, Pochettino is currently the front runner to replace the Frenchman in the Santiago Bernabeu hot seat.
While some Spurs fans view Pochettino taking over at Madrid as positive news since it will keep the Argentine away from managing a Premier League rival such as Manchester United, others are worried what the 48-year-old’s appointment could mean for Sergio Reguilon’s future.
Madrid have a buy-back clause in Reguilon’s contract that can be activated either next summer or in the summer of 2022 (Alasdair Gold).
The left-back, who has made an impressive start to his Tottenham career, does reportedly not have the best of relationships with Zidane (El Confidencial via The Daily Mail) but some fans are worried that Pochettino might activate the buy-back clause and give him a fresh opportunity in the Spanish capital.
i'd actually lol quite a bit if Poch went to Madrid before Utd got their grubby little hands on him.

Poch will get his dream job with Real Madrid. I can see it happening now. Massive task as the whole squad needs updating but his approach with young players will help.

Spurs Web Opinion
After receiving a taste of first-team football at Sevilla and Tottenham, it is unlikely that Reguilon would want to go back to Madrid to serve as a backup. Thankfully for Spurs, Ferland Mendy has come on leaps and bounds recently and seems to have made the left-back spot his own at Madrid. Even if Marcelo leaves or retires soon, Reguilon is unlikely to make the left-back spot at Madrid his won.
