Tottenham Hotspur finally announced today that Christian Eriksen has officially transferred from Spurs to Inter Milan in the January transfer window.
This brings to an end his seven-season journey with Tottenham and the fans in North London.
This journey started in 2013 when Spurs had just waved goodbye to Gareth Bale and had experienced just a taste of top European football, but ended in the taste of a Champions League Final.
Eriksen played over 300 games in a Lilywhite shirt, scoring 69 goals from midfield in the process, including some memorable strikes (Wikipedia).
Who could forget the third against Real Madrid at Wembley in the Champions League group stages?
The Daily Mail reported on Monday that the Great Dane had arrived in Italy to finalise his Inter Milan move with a medical, stating that the deal would be worth £17.5m. This is exactly £6m more than Spurs paid for him in 2013 (BBC).
Some Spurs fans took to Twitter to wave goodbye to Christian:
Thank you for everything, Christian!
