Some Spurs fans claim they were punched in the face and spat at by City supporters

It can sometimes be easy for things to boil over down at the pitchside, with players and managers acting in the heat of the moment.

This is especially the case when two big teams come face to face in a match that could perhaps have some influence on the final table come the end of the season.

With Man City and Tottenham in action at the weekend, we saw two sides who definitely have ambitions of lifting silverware this season.

Not only this, but the match itself was extremely dramatic, with goals against the run of play and even a late VAR decision.

However, at no point did the players get in over their heads, start scrapping, or taking out their frustrations on the opposition.

If these Spurs fans are to be believed on Twitter, the same cannot be said of some Man City supporters, with accusations of violence being thrown around.

One woman, Laura Oakley, claimed that a young man punched her in the face at the match, while Chris Cowlin stated that some City fans spat, punched, and hit Tottenham supporters, with the Police unable to contain the situation.
One supporter even claimed that racism towards Spurs fans was the reason behind the scuffles.
