Tottenham have put in a solid first-half display against Norwich as the lead 1-0 at half time in the FA Cup fifth-round replay this evening.
Jose Mourinho made three changes to the side that lost 3-2 on Sunday with Michel Vorm making his first start since returning to the club this season, while Jan Vertonghen and Oliver Skipp also came into the team.
The home side started brightly and dominated proceedings for the first half an hour. They deservedly took the lead through Vertonghen as the Belgian powered home a header in the far post from a Giovani Lo Celso free-kick.
Spurs looked threatening on the counter and fashioned several opportunities but a lack of quality in the final third let them down and should have doubled their lead only for Lucas Moura to fail to square the ball to Dele.
The Canaries came into the game in the final fifteen minutes of the encounter and fashioned some decent chances themselves, with only some last-ditch defending preventing them from levelling the score.
Some Spurs fans were pleased with the first-half display with Skipp, in particular, getting a lot of plaudits for his performance:

Skipp is so much better at tackling than Winks

Dele looks up for it tonight…….👀

Very scruffy half. Great header from Vertonghen to put us ahead, should have been two though – Lucas did well to win the ball back in the box but shot at goal rather than teeing Dele up for a tap into an empty net. It’s not exactly inspiring but I’ll take this.

Dier solid half again. Gio running things as per. Skipp very tidy little player. So far so good COYS 🙏🏻

Spurs Web Opinion
We certainly need a second goal to kill this game off as Norwich showed in that half that they are more than capable of fashioning chances. We ideally need an early goal in the second half to calm our nerves as our defence cannot be trusted to keep a clean sheet given their recent form
