Tottenham Hotspur managed to walk away from the Etihad Stadium with a point after Manchester City dominated proceedings for the majority of the game.
Tottenham’s backline had to repel attack after attack from the hosts and defended resolutely for the most part.
However, there was one member of the Spurs backline, whose performance seems to be dividing the opinion of fans – Kyle Walker-Peters.
We covered the fact that some Spurs fans on social media weren’t convinced of Walker-Peters’ showing against Aston Villa last week while others thought that the 22-year-old had a great game.
It seems to be a similar case with his performance against City as well with some suggesting that the youngster had put in a solid shift and others claiming that he was exposed defensively.
Here’s what some Spurs fans tweeted about the full back’s performance against City:
Spurs’ man of the match for me today was Kyle Walker-Peters. Best Spurs defender on the night – had an absolutely immense game at the back and marshaled Raheem Sterling excellently all night, bar one sloppy giveaway.

Thought Kyle Walker-Peters was brilliant today. I believe it’s the first time he plays against a top side and he did amazingly good. pic.twitter.com/8BKNWqH8VQ

I hate to say it but Walker Peters will get ripped apart tomorrow if he starts but some Spurs fans still want him to start as he’s passionate. I’ll eat a slice of humble pie if he proves me wrong but I just think he’s not good enough to be a first choice right back at Spurs.

Kyle walker Peters stepped up. Why some Fans aren't rating his performance today's confusing. I thought he was excellent. Fsr better than what trippers provided us in the last year or so.. 👏👏

I don’t want to be negative and I really hope the lad comes good as a top quality right back, but Kyle Walker-Peters got murdered tonight. #COYS

Spurs Web Opinion
One has to remember that Walker-Peters was up against one of the best forwards in the league in Raheem Sterling. It is important that he gets a run of games before we start judging him. He will likely grow in confidence as he gets more first-team football under his belt.
