Some Tottenham fans are social media have been left fearing that Dele Alli’s time at the club is about to come to an end after Jose Mourinho’s latest comments about the midfielder.
Dele failed to make Tottenham’s matchday squad for the second consecutive match on Sunday when the Lilywhites put in a clinical second-half display to beat Southampton 5-2.
After the England international was left out from the squad by Jose Mourinho, reports emerged that Spurs had offered the midfielder to a number of clubs around Europe (Fabrizio Romano).
When Jose Mourinho was asked about the speculation surrounding the 24-year-old’s future after Tottenham’s win at St Mary’s, he refused to rule at the possibility of the midfielder leaving the club (Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick).
Some Spurs fans on social media are dead set against the idea of cashing-in on Dele and hoped that being left out of the squad proves to be the kick up the backside the midfielder needs to start performing again.
However, a few insisted they would not be upset to see the back of the former MK Dons man as he has been on the decline
Hopefully, this is the kick up the arse the complacent, but talented #COYS player needs to reignite his career? ⏰🔥 pic.twitter.com/cvU9Ea3Ayj

Great couple days for Spurs fans. Soured only a little by the Dele rumors. I really hope he can find a way to stay. Even if he doesn’t start, he’s an incredible sub and we need depth for a long season. Plus his bit in All or Nothing about Spurs being a family for him

Really hope Dele doesn’t leave man

IF Dele does leave I hope it is only on loan as I dont feel like he is finished yet.
Also, financially, his value is probably the lowest it has been in 4/5 years.

Sell Lucas before Dele surely.

In an ideal world, I don’t want to see us sell Dele Alli. I think this season is very important for him to figure out which kind of route he wants to take in his career. Being dropped out of the squad will hopefully give him a kick up the backside and get him back to his best.

It’s been a good day all round. #COYS well done! ✅ 💪💪
Apart from but news I’ve just read about Dele. That is ridiculously a bad decision. I’m always no one man is bigger than the club but shopping Dele is dumb.
So many more should go over him. Anyways. That’s imo.

Please don’t sell Dele #Alli

You lot begging for Dele to stay are the same who scream and shout for Lamela and Moura to be sold.
Dele has been absolutely dog shit for 3 years now. It’s time to go.

Instead of the 'Dele is the new scapegoat' views, how about taking into account he's been awful for a longtime and has done nothing to deserve a place in the team.

Spurs Web Opinion
I can see why Jose might be open to cashing in on Dele rather than the likes of Lamela as the England midfielder arguably does not suit our counter-attacking style as he slows down attacks. However, I do not expect him to leave before the close of the transfer window. In fact, I believe he will stay and win his place back in the side.
Have something to tell us about this article?
Low class newspaper bullshit, picked up by blogs (cut and paste merchants) and sensationalised. As recently as a week ago the scum press along with the numb skulls masquerading as expert pundits were writing/saying that Ndombele was going to force a move out of the club and that he’s lazy etc.,now all of a sudden he’s staying and eager to justify his fee. As for Dele Alli slowing the game down, that in my opinion is a tag I pin squarely to Winks who’s forever playing square balls and endless back passes how the fuck he’s rated so highly by some is a total mystery to me . True Alli hasn’t lived up to billing the past couple of years but he’s still an outstanding talent end of.
