Tottenham were held to a 2-2 draw by Olympiacos in their Champions League opener at the Karaiskakis Stadium yesterday evening.
A draw was nothing more than what the Greek side deserved for putting in a spirited display. Tottenham struggled to get hold of the ball in the first half and the hosts would have taken the lead if not for some poor finishing.
Tottenham raced into a two-goal completely against the run of play, courtesy of a Harry Kane spot-kick and a powerful strike from Lucas Moura.
Even when they were 2-0 up, Mauricio Pochettino’s men didn’t look convincing at all with the likes of Christian Eriksen and Tanguy Ndombele repeatedly giving the ball away with sloppy passes.
The hosts got one back just before half time and completed their comeback from the penalty spot when Jan Vertonghen was adjudged to have fouled Mathieu Valbuena.
While Spurs finished the game strongly, some Tottenham fans were extremely angered by the performance of one man in particular – Christian Eriksen.
Some fans alleged that Dane’s performance was proof that he didn’t really want to be at Tottenham.
Eriksen would be lucky if Real Sociedad wanted to buy him after that performance never mind Madrid.

On the basis of Christian Eriksen’s performance for Tottenham Hotspur if you can even call it that, would sooner rather that he would have been left at home rather than Serge Aurier.
A display not worthy of wearing a Spurs shirt in any competition.#THFC #COYS #UCL #OLYTOT

FT 2-2:
– Absolute shocker from Eriksen, looks like he doesn't want to be here
– Winks our best player & only one taking risks
– Never ever want to see Sanchez at RB again
– Selfishness from Dele & Lamela has cost us 2 points
– N'Dombele didn't look 100%#COYS #OLYTOT— COYS.com (@COYS_com) September 18, 2019
Eriksen has avoided being subbed as no one can find him

If we played a team with any sort of quality we would have been beat today.
Absolutely shocking performance from the whole team and special mention to Eriksen.

I am honestly wondering why Eriksen is still with Tottenham. He clearly doesn't want to be with us. What I also dont understand is why didn't Poch not take him off when he is that poor and yet Lucas comes off? I don't know whats going on at Tottenham right now but it is worrying.

Spurs Web Opinion
We have seen performances like this far too often from Christian Eriksen over the last few years. While his quality can certainly make a difference in the final third, his concentration levels really has to improve. He was quite lucky that Tottenham were not punished on a couple of occasions when he gave the ball away in midfield.
