Some Spurs fans love what Paulo Gazzaniga did to Jan Vertonghen last night

There were many candidates for the best player on the pitch last night within the Spurs ranks, from Son’s energy to Kane’s goals and Ndombele’s midfield play.

However, there was arguably only one stand out player for Tottenham’s worst-of-the-night award, as Jan Vertonghen struggled yet again at the centre of defence.

The Belgian gave the ball away on multiple occasions, whether it was having his pocket picked or misplacing a pass into the attacking line.

The follows on from a tough string of games for Vertonghen at the back as he has struggled to rediscover the form that saw Spurs fans fall in love with him.

At 32-years-old and with under a year left on his contract, it is not yet clear as to whether he will be given a new deal or whether Jan will leave the club on a free in the summer.

Paulo Gazzaniga was seen giving the Belgian centre-back a stern talking to after gifting a Red Star player a free header last night and some Tottenham fans loved it.
