Some Tottenham fans on social media have joked that Nicolas Pepe’s suspension for the North London Derby after his red card against Leeds United comes as a big boost for the Gunners and a massive blow for Spurs.
Although Tottenham have another huge derby clash against Chelsea to look forward to next weekend, some fans might already be rubbing their hands with glee at the prospect of taking on Arsenal in two weeks time.
Mikel Arteta’s side look short of confidence and are struggling to score goals, having netted just nine times in their first nine league games.
Club record signing Nicholas Pepe was handed a rare start at Elland Road on Sunday and received a straight red for headbutting Leeds defender Ezgjan Alioski, which means that he will now be suspended for three matches including the North London derby.
With Arsenal’s attacking players already struggling for form, the last thing Arteta needed was to be left short of one more option.
However, some Spurs fans have joked that the Lilywhites’ are appealing Pepe’s red card as the Gunners are essentially a ten-men team when the Ivorian starts.

Just realized that Pepe's red card will mean that it's another NLD that he won't turn up in
