While there is no World Cup or European Championship for the senior men’s England team this summer, that isn’t to say there aren’t any major tournaments taking place.
The Women’s World Cup is now well underway, with the Copa America having also kicked off this summer, and the U21 Euros on the horizon.
Spurs have a couple of players involved in the Copa America this year, with two coming head to head last night as Argentina took on Colombia.
Juan Foyth was an unused substitute for Argentina, while Davinson Sanchez started the match for Colombia, up against the likes of Sergio Aguero and Lionel Messi up front.
However, Colombia came through the crunch match as 2-0 victors, largely down to the expert defending by Davinson and co.
Some Spurs fans took to Twitter to react to the promising performance of their up-and-coming central defender, with the future of Alderweireld still uncertain.
