Tottenham Hotspur have been short on attacking talent at times this season, with Harry Kane out injured with two separate ankle ligament issues.
Dele Alli has also spent time out injured, and Heung Min Son spent two periods away from the club on international duty with South Korea.
Vincent Janssen has also failed to live up to the bill and Erik Lamela has had his usual sporadic, injury-hit campaign.
According to CalcioNapoli24, Spurs will now cash in on the latter, as they look to replace the injury-plagued ex-Roma man.
The report claims that Spurs are set to replace the winger with Newcastle star Ayoze Perez, providing the forward does not end up moving to Italy instead.
They even claim that Spurs are ‘one step away’ from signing Perez this summer, as Pochettino could be looking for a more reliable Lamela replacement.
While Perez would not represent a huge first team signing, some Spurs fans have reacted on Twitter to the possible transfer.
