Tottenham Hotspur now have a date for their first game at the new 62,000+ stadium, with the match to play played against Crystal Palace on April 3.
The original opening date for the ground was way back in September 2018, but Spurs fans won’t care one bit once the first game is finally played.
They will be glad to see the back of Wembley, although I’m sure they will look back on the time with fondness in a few years, with some historic games at the national stadium, including 3-1 against Real Madrid.
Spurs also announced some other exciting news today, as they committed to freezing season ticket prices for the new 2019/20 season.
The club thanked their fans for their patience and support, before announcing that season ticket renewals would open on Tuesday 22 April.
This will be Tottenham’s first full season in the new stadium, a campaign that will go down in the club’s history books no matter what.
Some Spurs fans took to twitter to react to the ticket news:
A spurs White Nike t-shirt on every seat for the city game would be a good idea. Turn that wall white!

Its crazy that we now consider a price freeze a “win” when many of us had a massive 50% hike on our season tickets. I have a lesser seat & less games. With so much money made through TV & sponsorship, I am still deeply disappointed in the clubs treatment of us if Im honest ?♂️

First time in a year we haven’t been mugged off. Cheers @SpursOfficial xx

Everyone saying fair play. U know how much they are now? If they didn’t freeze them it would be a disgrace

Is the transfer budget frozen too…?

2 cup tickets as well would be a nice gesture

Thank goodness for that. I don’t think the Twitter servers could have coped with the reaction to any sort of increase.
