Many Tottenham fans would have expected to see Christian Eriksen in another team’s shirt by now after the Great Dane revealed his desire to leave North London last month (Ekstra Bladet).
Eriksen told the Danish media that he was looking for a step up and a new challenge, but would think about a new Spurs contract if no big clubs came in for him.
We are now in the slightly strange position in which Eriksen is still at the club nearly two months later, on the pre-season tour, and without any concrete reported bids in the media.
Spurs took on Juventus in their first tour friendly yesterday, with 21 Tottenham players used in the match, but Eriksen left on the bench.
Recent reports have indicated that Eriksen has been training alone due to recent minor surgery, so this may be the reason he was not handed any minutes (Sun).
If the playmaker’s recent tweet is anything to go by, he seems happy at the moment, even including the Come On You Spurs hashtag.
