Many Tottenham fans, and the wider footballing world, were left shocked by the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino in North London last month.
This came after the Lilywhites had endured a very poor start to the new season. They were 14th in the Premier League, out of the Carabao Cup, and were battered 7-2 by Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
It appeared that Pochettino’s consecutive seasons qualifying for the Champions League, as well as making the 2019 final, were not enough to save him from the axe.
Daniel Levy and the Spurs board decided to sack the Argentine in the last international break, before bringing in Jose Mourinho just 24 hours later.
In a recent interview with the Evening Standard, Daniel Levy claimed that he had a personal relationship with Pochettino and he never wanted to get rid of him.
However, the chairman did excite some fans by stating that hopefully Pochettino can come back to the North London club one day.

My hope, too. Just hope he goes somewhere in between and win some trophies.

Hope he comes back to us ..
Just needed a better squad and some trophies and he'll become amazing— SpursSignSomeoneInJanuary (@SpursTransfer10) December 19, 2019
Rarest of things anyone would agree with him. Well said??

No it isn't. He sacked the manager who was with such a long time & was adored as well. Mourinho has never had a problem with anything about poch. He literally said that in his 1st press conference.

Fantastic article and great to hear from Mr Levy in his own words….
Love the thought of Pochetino returning in the future, but happy to have Jose in charge presently.#COYS— Paul Maskell (@riverman72) December 19, 2019
He has unfinished business at the club, he'll come back in the future, I am sure

That was pretty stupid of Daniel Levy to have built up a personal relationship with someone he employed.?
That's why Mauricio was able to sit back and didn't take his task seriously enough to go after winning every trophy in sight.?
