Tottenham Hotspur may be in search for a new centre-back this summer, as Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderwerield are now both in their thirties.
The Belgian duo also both have just one year left on their current contracts at Tottenham, meaning that Pochettino may have to look elsewhere for his starting come next season.
Spurs have Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez waiting in the wings, but it appears that Poch and Levy want to add William Saliba to that list.
Arsenal may also be on the lookout for a new defender, as their captain, Laurent Koscielny, is refusing to join the team on pre-season training (BBC).
The 18-year-old had apparently already agreed a five-year contract with Arsenal this summer, and the Gunners were just a few minor details from reaching a deal with St-Etienne (Guardian).
However, Spurs have now swooped in at the death, offering a more competitive deal for the youngster, which includes a season-long loan back to his current club. Spurs are said to have bid around €30m for the teenager (RMC).
