“Play him more often” Some Spurs fans react to new contract for defender

Tottenham Hotspur announced today that Kyle Walker-Peters has signed a new deal with the club.

The new contract will run until 2023, and comes just as the academy youngster may be taking to the Camp Nou turf to represent his club.

Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier both sustained injuries recently, and images did not show them boarding the plane to Spain earlier today.

It may be up to young Walker-Peters to occupy that right back berth against the might of Barcelona in the Champions League, by far the biggest game of his career.

KWP has been relatively unused so far this season, third in the pecking order for his favoured position.

It may have seemed like a waste not to send the player out on loan for some extra experience, but it looks as if Spurs need him now more than ever.

Some Spurs fans took to Twitter to react to the contract news today.
