Marcus Edwards sent Tottenham Twitter into dreamland on Thursday night when he came up against Arsenal in the Europa League.
Spurs recently sold the promising academy graduate to Vitoria SC after Edwards struggled to get a chance under Mauricio Pochettino, especially with the recent emergence of Oliver Skipp and Troy Parrott.
Edwards only ever made one senior appearance for Tottenham and that came back in a League Cup match in the 2016/17 season, before he was loaned out to Norwich City and Excelsior (Wikipedia).
However, Tottenham fans were screaming his name in a senior match this week, despite him already leaving the Lilywhites, as he netted early on against the Gunners.
Unfortunately, Arsenal battled to come from behind twice in the match and eventually won it 3-2 after Pepe scored two delightful late free-kicks at the Emirates.
However, Tottenham fans were still quick to congratulate and celebrate their man on Twitter after he sent a message after the match.
Big up Marcus?
