Some Spurs fans react to Michel Vorm’s first tweet since returning to the club

Despite the goalkeeper leaving Tottenham when his contract ran out at the end of last season, Michel Vorm has been re-signed in the midst of an injury crisis.

Vorm spent the last five seasons in North London with the Lilywhites as a core member of the Pochettino squad, often acting as deputy to Hugo Lloris.

In recent seasons, Paulo Gazzaniga began to overtake the Dutchman in the pecking order, and with Vorm now at 35-years of age, his contract was allowed to run down.

Vorm has played 45 matches for Spurs over five seasons at the club and many thought that tally was done ticking, but we could see more of the shot-stopper this season (Wikipedia).

After Hugo Lloris dislocated his elbow in the first three minutes of the Brighton game last time out, Gazzaniga was forced to step in as the new number one.

This left just Alfie Whiteman in reserve, an inexperienced youngster. Daniel Levy clearly thought that Spurs could do with extra cover and, still being a free agent, Vorm got the call.

Spurs Web Opinion:

A no-brainer of a signing. Spurs needed cover and Vorm is the perfect man for the job. He is a free agent, he knows the club, he knows the manager, and he knows the team. Top class professional
