Some Spurs fans are extremely pleased to hear that Jose Mourinho is reportedly set to give Tanguy Ndombele a second chance at Tottenham.
The Frenchman arrived from Lyon last summer with a lot of expectation on his shoulders after Tottenham smashed their transfer record to bring him to North London.
While the midfielder did make a decent start to life in the Premier League, he soon started to pick up injuries and struggled to adapt to the pace of the English game.
Ndombele has certainly shown glimpses of his quality this season but question marks remain over the 23-year-old’s fitness and effort levels.
Despite Mourinho publically singling Ndombele out for criticism (BBC) after the draw against Burnley last month, a report in the Daily Star claims that the Spurs boss is prepared to give the French international a chance to turn things around at the club.
The report asserts that the Portuguese coach trusts in the midfielder’s qualities and remains confident that he will come good.
Here’s how some Spurs fans on social media reacted to the report:
I’m fine giving him another chance. This season hasn’t been easy with manager changes, style of play shifting and fitness problems. He’s still got the potential to be a world beater. I want to see a midfield of Tanguy, Gio and Alli tearing up the league

Oh course he does. N’Dombele has capacity to be so so special. More special than we can imagine.

José wants to give Ndombele a second chance at Tottenham Mourinho believes the midfielder is a player of great quality and will become a genuine force for the club once he is properly settled.
So basically saying what I've been saying from day one, beast of a player (when fit) pic.twitter.com/CGCuRAvSRG

Ndombele’s no flop. On the pitch a little over a third of 18/19 season in a world class league. Would have posted better numbers given the full time. #THFC #COYS #PSGandBarçainterestsayssomething pic.twitter.com/or5DrbGY3D

Ndombele better be spending this time working on fitness, if he comes back fit he will boss the league

For some reason I keep seeing people say that Ndombele is going to flop at Tottenham because Jose is our manager.
This couldn’t be anymore wrong, Ndombele needs a manager that’s harsh and demanding and who’s better at that than Jose.

I’ve been so excited since I found out Mourinho wants to sign Kondogbia. Ndombele gets fit and that’s the closest spurs can get back to their Wanyama-Dembele Pivot

Spurs Web Opinion
It is clear for all of us to see that Ndombele has all the talent he needs to evolve into one of the best midfielders in the world. However, there are certainly question marks over his attitude. I believe that Jose’s decision to publicly criticise the midfielder was a calculated attempt by him to see if Ndombele would respond to it. While it is good to hear that the Spurs boss rates the midfielder highly, the Frenchman really needs to pull his socks up next season and give it his all if he wants to make it at Tottenham.
