Some Tottenham fans seem to be divided over the club’s rumoured interest in Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha. Italian outlet Il Tempo reported earlier this week that Spurs were interested in landing the experienced shot-stopper.
The report claimed that Jose Mourinho viewed Strakosha as Lloris’ long-term successor and that Spurs were ready to battle Leicester City for the Albanian’s signature in the summer.
Strakosha is not the only goalkeeper that Tottenham have been linked with, as Ajax number one, Andre Onana, has also been touted as a possible summer target (The Sun).
Therefore, multiple recent reports seem to indicate that changes are perhaps on the cards within the goalkeeping ranks at Spurs in the near future.
While some Spurs fans felt that the team only needed a new number two, others felt that Lloris’ time as first-choice was up.
Here’s how some fans reacted to the Strakosha rumours as well as Tottenham’s goalkeeping situation in general:
He’s top top keeper

He’s made as many howlers as Lloris. No thanks.

Looks like we have our first ITK rumor – Lazio keeper Thomas Strakosha. Did a background check on him – he's Albanian, 24 and been with Lazio for about four seasons.
Not sure how good he is but some Italian rag thinks we're in for him. ☺ He does look a bit like Discount Gazza. pic.twitter.com/Dx9WEkZOkP

Okay so it's pretty obvious that Spurs need 7 or 8 new players…be as realistic as possible, who would you go with?
I'd say:
Strakosha
Konaté
Romagnoli
Aarons
Grimaldo
Berge
Soumaré
FernandesCan't believe it's got this bad, feels like I'm having to play football manager ffs

Not time to replace Hugo yet… as far as GK go let’s promote Alfie Whiteman or Brandon Austin to the 3rd spot that Vorm just vacated?

Sorry, but you're wrong about Lloris. And why bother listing two backup goalkeepers? That makes your list not worth paying attention to. Even if we replace Gazz and Vorm (an emergency signing), how does that improve the club? Stop the whinging. You sound like @piersmorgan

Lloris has been a wall in goal for many years, but he's getting old even for a keeper. I wouldn't say we have to replace him this summer, but by the start of 21/22 it's well past time to find a new goalkeeper. If the opportunity arises this year we should be open to take it.

Oblak is quality. Best replacement for lloris out there but out of our league in price tag.

Spurs Web Opinion
I have personally been impressed with Lloris since his return from injury. While he didn’t cover himself in glory against Leipzig last week, it could be the case that he was rushed back for that game before he was fully ready. With Vorm set to leave at the end of the season, I do expect us to be in the market for a goalkeeper but I would be surprised if we bought someone to challenge for the number one shirt.
