Some Spurs fans react to photo of Troy Parrott squaring up to West Ham player

It has been a big week in the life of Tottenham academy starlet Troy Parrott, as he was called up to the Republic of Ireland senior side for the first time ever.

Not only that, but Parrott was named in the starting XI by Mick McCarthy for the friendly against New Zealand last night. This comes before Ireland take on Christian Eriksen’s Denmark in a EURO 2020 qualifier.

Parrott wasn’t able to get on the scoresheet for the greens, but he did notch an assist in the match.

However, it was something that happened off the ball that some Spurs fans have been applauding.

After a challenge with West Ham United, famous Spurs rivals, defender Winston Reid, Parrott showed no signs of backing down as the two squared up.

The 17-year-old forward certainly wasn’t intimidated by the 31-year-old experienced defender.

With Parrott having made his Spurs debut against Colchester, some are now even calling for him to play in the Premier League. Tottenham’s next opponents… West Ham United.
