Some Spurs fans react to report that new striker is now seen as bonus not necessity

Tottenham Hotspur will likely be without a striker until early April when Harry Kane is expected to make a return to training after his injury.

Kane ruptured the tendon in his left hamstring back at the start of the month, before undergoing surgery to correct it, yet Spurs have still not signed a replacement.

With Fernando Llorente being released in the summer and Vincent Janssen being sold, Spurs were left with Kane as the only senior natural striker.

Lucas Moura has largely been filling the role for Mourinho, but the Brazilian looks far from comfortable out of position up top.

Many Spurs fans would have been hoping for a new centre-forward to come into the club at some point during January, but one report has now thrown question marks over this.

The Athletic claim that Spurs now see a new striker as a bonus rather than a necessity this window, despite the lack of options.
