Some Tottenham fans on social media have been disagreeing on whether Real Madrid winger, Lucas Vasquez would be a decent addition to the Spurs squad.
Vasquez was rumoured to be a target for Spurs last summer, as well in the January transfer window, but the winger ended up staying put at Real Madrid.
He has been handed plenty of game time at the Santiago Bernabeu this season, with Zinedine Zidane often using him as an auxiliary right-back.
The Daily Star reported on Sunday (as relayed by TBR Football) that Tottenham were looking to snap up Vazquez on a free transfer in the summer when his contract with Real Madrid runs out.
Spanish publication ABC have claimed that negotiations between the 29-year-old and Real Madrid have hit a roadblock, with the Spanish giants not prepared to offer the wide man the pay rise he is looking for.
While some Spurs fans on social media dismissed the idea of signing Vazquez, insisting that he would be no better than the wingers already at the club, other suggested that he could do a decent job at right-back for the North Londoners.
No better than the Lucas we already have

Lool I've watched him many times he's bang average the only reason he gets minutes is cos he's versatile and can play on the wing and as fullback
He's just the spanish sissoko

True because he would be free! To be honest if we sell Lamela in summer I wouldn't mind him on a free transfer. But we need to prioritize the defense more than anything.

As a right back why not but I don’t see the reason if we could just sign an actual right back

Spurs Web Opinion
Some reports have suggested that Doherty could be on his way out at the end of the season as the former Wolves man is yet to convince Mourinho, while Serge Aurier will be into the final year of his contract with Spurs at the end of the season.
So it is possible that Mourinho is looking at Vazquez as a possible option at right-back and it might be a tempting proposition for the club if the 29-year-old is available on a free transfer.
