Some Spurs fans react to the signing of Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid

Tottenham Hotspur have just announced the signing of Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid, with the left-back scooping up the vacant number three shirt.

The signing has certainly sparked some excitement on social media among some of the Spurs faithful today.

Reguilon spent the past year out on loan to Sevilla in La Liga, racking up great experience with 38 games and three goals. This followed on from his 22 games for Madrid in the 2018/19 season (Wikipedia).

It was reported earlier this week by Fabrizio Romano that Tottenham had agreed to pay a fee of around €30m for the 23-year-old this summer.

However, Real Madrid insisted on two major clauses in the sale, a buy-back and a pre-emption. This means that Madrid can buy Reguilon back for a rumoured €40m-€45m in the future, as well as having the chance to match any bids from other clubs.
