It is that time of year again and Gareth Bale is being linked with a return to his old club, Tottenham Hotspur.
Perhaps with Bale out of favour at Madrid and Spurs reaching the Champions League final last season, this is actually the most realistic link with Bale in years, but it still seems unlikely.
Reports this week have claimed that Tottenham are willing to bid between €50m and €60m for the Welsh Wizard this summer, offering him a route out of Spain (Marca).
However, the report also states that Spurs would only be willing to pay around half of Gareth’s wages, with the Express citing this amount to be £600,000 per week.
Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, has come out today to silence the claims of a Tottenham return, telling TalkSPORT that he does not comment on rubbish.
It seems as if this could be the shortest Tottenham-Bale rumour yet, but that hasn’t stopped some Spurs fans from getting excited on Twitter.
