Tottenham Hotspur fans would have been far happier last night after watching their side finally record a convincing win with a clean sheet this season.
The only other time this has happened across 13 games in all competitions came when Spurs beat Crystal Palace 4-0 at home.
Spurs managed to thump five past Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League last night, with a new-look defence as Ben Davies and Davinson Sanchez stepped in, with Juan Foyth replacing Vertonghen in the second half.
Vertonghen and Alderweireld have struggled to rediscover their telepathic brick wall style defending so far this season, with both set to leave the club on free transfers in the summer.
While Toby was left out of the squad last night, he did take to Twitter to react to the win, although some Spurs fans were frustrated with the defender.
Some argued that it was simply a PR team message, while others claimed they did not want the Belgian to sign a new deal.
