Some Spurs fans on social media were over the moon to see Gareth Bale and Dele Alli shining in Tottenham’s 4-1 win over Wolfsberger this evening.
Jose Mourinho opted to start with a front four of Gareth Bale, Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura and Dele Alli, resting Harry Kane for the first-leg in Budapest.
His decision was vindicated as the North Londoners put themselves in a commanding position with little over half an hour gone, with Bale, Moura and Son getting on the scoresheet in the first half.
Bale’s goal, in particular, would have delighted Tottenham fans as the Welshman showed good pace to get in-behind the Austrian side’s backline before dragging the ball back and hammering it into the top corner.
Alli, who was making his first start since the 5-0 win over Marine at the start of January, also looked extremely sharp and was involved in many of the good moves that Spurs put together.
Some Tottenham fans were delighted with the pair’s display and urged Mourinho to start both players against West Ham on Sunday.
Brilliant first half, disappointing 2nd half, thought Gareth bale was starting to look sharp with a bit more minutes and games he’ll be back, dele looked decent as well, only bad thing is that sissoko and winks is no where near the levels of Hojbjerg and ndombele

For me, Bale and Dele should both start on Sunday. Bring Kane in for Lucas and keep the Pierre and Ndombele centre midfield pairing.

Happy to see Bale & Dele play with such confidence tonight, however I need to see them play like this against better opposition before I label them back.

Spurs Web Opinion
The fact that Mourinho took both Bale and Alli off in the second half might be a sign that he wants them to be involved against the Hammers on Sunday. However, I would be surprised if either of them started the game as I expect Kane, Bergwijn and Lamela to come back into the staring eleven.
