Some Spurs fans on social media have called out those who previously insisted that Ivan Perisic would not be a good signing, on the back of the winger’s fantastic display against Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals this week.
The Bavarians thrashed the Catalans 8-2 to book their place in the semis and Perisic was one of their main attacking threats, especially in the first half.
The wide man got on the scoresheet in the first 45 and, together with Alphonso Davies, gave Barca right-back Nelson Semedo a torrid time.
Jose Mourinho has admitted his admiration for the Croatian international in the past and it was reported last month that the Spurs boss wanted to bring the winger to North London, with the possibility of a swap deal with Erik Lamela being mooted (Calciomercato).
It is fair to say that fans were not exactly enthusiastic to be linked the 31-year-old but on the back of his performance on Friday, some believe that the Inter star could be a useful asset to the squad.
Genuinely wish Mourinho can still get Perisic at Spurs

Those who said Coutinho and Perisic aren't good enough for Spurs but Ndombele is.

Why didn't Spurs loan Coutinho and Perisic after they reached a champions league final and built an awesome stadium?!? You can't tell me there was no pull. We just didn't wanna spend the money with Lucas/Lamela in the team. Midtable mentality.

I'd like all of the Spurs fans who said that Thiago, Perisic & Coutinho wouldn't improve our squad to own up. pic.twitter.com/MDbgG5z32j

Spurs Web Opinion
Perisic is extremely underrated just because he does not fit into the traditional mould of a winger or a wide forward. He hardly ever does anything flashy that gets fans out of their seat but if one plays close attention, he always makes extremely intelligent choices both on and off the ball. I can see why Jose is such a big admirer of the Croat.
