Some Spurs fans on social media have been left extremely impressed by assistant coach Joao Sacramento and believe the 32-year-old has what it takes to be Jose Mourinho’s long-term replacement in the North London hot seat.
Sacramento joined Mourinho’s coaching staff from Lille after the former Chelsea and Manchester United boss succeeded Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham back in late November.
The 32-year-old was formerly a young player in the SC Braga’s youth academy and later served as a video analyst with the Welsh national team after earning a Master’s Degree in Sports Coaching and Performance at the University of South Wales (according to the club’s official website).
However, it was his work as an assistant coach at Monaco and Lille that caught Mourinho’s eye and led to the pair linking up.
Sacramento gave an interview to the club this week in which he lauded the hard work the players have been putting in as well as the togetherness in the squad.
Some fans are so impressed by the Portuguese coach’s words as well as his actions on the touchline that they are convinced the club should consider making him the next head coach.

Since José’s arrival we’ve slowly climbed from 12th to 5th & from 12 to 4 points off the Top 4
He hasn’t done it himself. His assistant, Joao Sacramento has a huge part to play. His progressive take on José’s defensive Football has been vital
He’s just 30. Generational mind⚪️? pic.twitter.com/U2LClDZU9s

Spurs Web Opinion
It is clear that Jose trusts Sacramento a lot as the pair are constantly bouncing ideas off each other during games. The former Lille coach’s ideas on quick transitions and breaking with speed are being adopted into this Spurs side slowly but surely. It is perhaps Sacramento’s influence that is causing Mourinho to adopt a more offensive approach at Spurs than at previous stints.
