‘Someone I really look up to’ – Roma star pays tribute to Spurs’ Harry Kane

Tammy Abraham has lavished praise on his England teammate Harry Kane after his hat-trick in the Three Lions’ 5-0 demolition of Albania.

Kane’s poor form at club level this season was one of the main talking points heading into England’s clash against the Albanians, with the striker having scored just once in the Premier League.

The England captain confidently asserted ahead of the game that he was not concerned about his lack of goals and that it is only a matter of time before he starts putting the ball in the back of the net.

The 28-year-old was proven right on Friday as he netted a perfect hat-trick in the first half to silence critics.

Abraham, who is Kane’s understudy for the number nine role in the England set-up, admitted that everyone in the squad was pleased for the Tottenham man. The former Chelsea striker also revealed that he looks up to the experienced striker.

Abraham told The Telegraph about Kane’s performance: “It was phenomenal.

“Everyone is so delighted for him, especially on the bench, every time he scored.

“It just shows that he’s world-class. He’s someone I really look up to and hopefully, he can get many more.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Based on the way the likes of Henderson, Coady and now Abraham have spoken about Kane over recent days, it is evident that the 28-year-old has huge respect among the England players, not just because of his ability but also because of how he carries himself.

This international break is exactly what the doctor ordered for Kane as his confidence would have certainly been boosted. To see him back among the goals is hugely positive for Spurs going into what is a run of winnable fixtures over the next few weeks.
