Son Heung-min names the best passer, dribbler, finisher and defender at Spurs

Son Heung-min recently sat down for an interview with Premier League Productions in which he was asked to build his ultimate Tottenham Hotspur teammate by combining the best attributes from different players in the Spurs squad.

The forward was asked to name the quickest player in the squad, the best passer, the best finisher, the best dribbler, the best defender and the most physically strong.

Son, as humble as ever, refused to nominate himself for any of the categories but his answers were rather insightful.

When asked to name the quickest player in the Tottenham squad, the South Korean said “I think Lucas (Moura).

When it was put to him that he could be up there in terms of pace, he responded: “I think Lucas is faster than me.”

The 28-year-old gave a swift response when asked who the best finisher in the squad is and unsurprisingly, he picked Harry Kane.

When asked whether the Tottenham players compete against each other while practising their finishing, Son answered: “No, not really. We are only focused on ourselves. Every single finishing drill, we want to be focussed. Sometimes when you play competition, you are playing some games you know.

“Every single ball we just want to focus and finish well. That’s our aim and that’s how we train.”

Son was torn between different players when asked to name the best dribbler in the squad, putting forward three potential candidates.

He said “Lucas could be up there. Steve (Steven Bergwijn). Can also be Tanguy (Ndombele).”

The former Bayer Leverkusen man also admitted that there were several good passers in the squad.

When asked which of his teammates is the best passer, he said: “Harry (Kane) and Lo Celso is also good. Could be Dele. Harry Winks is also a good passer. But I will say Gio.”

Son did not have to think twice before naming Moussa Sissoko as the strongest player in the squad.

When asked to name Tottenham’s best defender, he said: “Probably, I will say me. No, I’m joking (laughs). Toby (Alderweireld).”
