Son insists that Wembley is not a negative

Tottenham Hotspur take on the German League leaders Borussia Dortmund tonight in a crucial round of sixteen Champions League tie.

This first of two legs is set to take place at Wembley, a stadium many Spurs fans are probably sick of the sight of.

Tottenham were supposed to move into their new stadium way back in September 2018, but numerous delays mean supporters are still waiting.

The club advertised the new ground as the only place in London to watch Champions League football, yet if Spurs are knocked out by Dortmund, there will be no European games to be played there this campaign.

Wembley has been lacking in both attendance and atmosphere of late, with some numbers down in the 30,000’s.

Spurs will be hoping for a full and noisy crowd tonight as they take on Dortmund, and Heung Min Son insists that Wembley is not a negative for the club.

He said (SportBild as reported by SportWitness): “No. Wembley Stadium has now become our home stadium, and we’ve done great games there as well. That’s no problem for us.”
