Sonny pens heartfelt message to Tottenham fans

As many Tottenham fans will know, Heung-Min Son and his South Korean team mates managed to bring home the gold medal in their Asia Games campaign.

Sonny’s men eased past Japan by two goals to nil after extra time, with Son providing each of the assists.

The victory means that Son will avoid the two years of mandatory national service back in his home country, which he would have had to leave Spurs to complete in the next two years or so.

After his big competition win, Son had this to say to the Tottenham faithful: “I really want to say thank you to the coach and the fans of Spurs. They are so special.

“I want to say that my teammates have been amazing. It has been a tough time here but we pulled together and the team spirit was special. We worked so hard.

“I also want to talk about Tottenham. I had so many messages from Spurs and the fans and it was great. They have supported me so much and that means a lot to me.

“Now I am looking forward to getting back to England and showing what I can do.”

Son is expected to return to Tottenham after the international break to face Liverpool on September 15.
