‘Soon back on top’ – Bergwijn sends message to fans on social media after injury news

Tottenham were struck by yet another injury blow ahead of their all-important second leg clash against RB Leipzig this week.

The club confirmed today that Steven Bergwijn faced a sustained spell on the sidelines after picking up a significant sprain on his ankle against Burnley.

The news comes at a time when the side is already short of attacking options with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min both out of action.

Bergwijn has proven a valuable addition to the squad since arriving from PSV Eindhoven in January and has had to do a job for the side up front in the absence of their two main strikers.

The 22-year-old has taken to social media to send a positive message to fans. He even hinted that he could be back in action soon.

The attacker’s Instagram post was captioned: ‘Soon back on top’.

With Bergwijn now out, Jose has no choice but to go with Lamela, Dele and Lucas up top. That would leave us with no attacking options on the bench if we wish to change the game. It will be interesting to see if Jose is tempted to hand Parrott more opportunities at least now that we are done to the bare bones.
