Sources claim Spurs have reached deal for new signing – £8.6m plus £4.3m add ons

Sources have claimed that Tottenham have now reached an agreement with Metz over the signing of Pape Matar Sarr.

It was reported earlier this evening that Spurs were on the verge of reaching a deal with the Ligue 1 outfit, with the 18-year-old likely being loaned back to Metz.

RMC journalist Joris Crolbois also added that Spurs were set to pay around £12m-£13m, with the deal practically being done.

Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol took to Twitter tonight to reveal that five clubs have put in offers for Sarr, but he wants to sign for Tottenham. Solhekol also added that one contact involved in the talks claimed a deal had already been agreed.

Sarr had previously been linked with moves to Chelsea, Manchester United and Man City.

Sky Sports reported on their transfer centre (20/08/21 at 21:05) that Sarr would sign a six-year deal with Tottenham and can play as a number 6, 8, and 10.

Journalist Cesar Luis Merlo also tweeted out that a verbal agreement had been reached for Spurs to pay £8.6m plus another £4.3m in add-ons.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I already know that people are going to get annoyed by this, however, when a good opportunity comes along, sometimes you just have to pounce. This kid is clearly very highly rated and we could look back in a few years wondering how we got him so cheap.
