Southampton’s Danny Ings has remained coy on his future amid reports that Tottenham Hotspur have an interest in the striker.
Eurosport reported earlier this year that Tottenham were monitoring the former Liverpool player’s situation on the south coast ahead of potentially making an offer.
The 27-year-old has also been linked with a move to Manchester United and Southampton could face the prospect of losing him on a free transfer if they are unable to get him to put pen to paper on a new deal (Telegraph).
Ings is under contract at St Mary’s until the summer of 2022 and insisted that he is focused on each game.
“I’ve got a contract until the summer of 2022,” Ings told talkSPORT.
“I haven’t really acknowledged them [transfer rumours]. ‘I’ve just been focused on each game. Ultimately, I’ve still got a contract here.
“My main focus is to finish the season strong.”

If Harry Kane does indeed leave Tottenham this summer, it would make the club a more attractive proposition to strike targets who will know that they will not have to play second fiddle to the England captain. However, Kane is simply irreplaceable given not only the amount of goals he scored, but also the amount of assists he has delivered.
