Spanish giants offer Spurs man a way out in January

It has been far from a fairy tale move for Fernando Llorente since he switched from Swansea a couple of seasons ago.

The target man was always going to play second fiddle to Harry Kane, but even by a substitute’s standards his minute count for Spurs has been extremely low.

Llorente’s contract runs out next summer, and it doesn’t appear as if he will sign a new deal.

This means the player is free to start negotiating with non-English clubs come January, with one club in particular said to be interested in signing him up.

The Independent report Athletic Bilbao are keen on bringing Llorente back to Spain, and the 33-year-old has previously stated his desire to return to his home country.

Llorente actually began his career with Athletic, playing over 250 games for the club.

He only left after falling out with manager Marcelo Bielsa in 2012.

Llorente then moved to Juventus, Sevilla, Swansea, and finally Spurs, but the big man may complete the loop come January.
