Spanish journalist provides update on Memphis Depay’s future amid Spurs links

El Partidazo de COPE journalist Helena Condis Edo has revealed that Barcelona are willing to sell rumoured Tottenham target Memphis Depay for €15m (£12.7m) this summer.

Over the last couple of weeks, Depay has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs (Ekrem Konur).

Sport reported earlier this month that Antonio Conte’s men had ‘officially’ stepped up their pursuit of the Dutchman, with the striker said to have an offer from the Lilywhites ‘on the table’.

However, the report explained that the Dutch international is not particularly keen on returning to the Premier League this summer.

Sport’s claim was contradicted by Fabrizio Romano, who stated that although Fabio Paratici is a fan of the former Manchester United man, Spurs have not made an offer for him so far (Caught Offside).

Helena Condis Edo has now taken to social media to suggest that Barca have made up their minds to cash in on Depay as the striker is not in Xvi Hernandez’s plans for the upcoming season.

She added that the 28-year-old, whose contract at Camp Nou has 12 months left to run, would prefer to leave the club as a free agent. However, the Catalan giants are said to be looking to move Depay on this summer for a fee of €15m (£12.7m).

Spurs Web Opinion

While I do expect Depay to be moved on by Barca this summer, I would be extremely surprised if he ended up at Spurs. Conte has enough options upfront following the addition of Richrlison while Depay is not likely to be content with a bit-part role.
