Spanish media report significant turnaround in Eriksen’s future at Tottenham

Christian Eriksen is reported to be now considering a new four-year contract offer from Tottenham Hotspur which is worth €6million a year.

Spanish news outlet AS claim that the Dane is now re-thinking his future after Real Madrid have shelved their plans to sign the playmaker and are instead focusing on Manchester United’s Paul Pogba.

Eriksen is out of contract in North London next summer and would be able to agree to a free transfer to a club outside of England from January.

He went on record last week to Danish media stating his desire to leave Tottenham in order to seek a fresh challenge after six seasons at the club (Ekstra Bladet).

The report claims that Tottenham are holding firm with their valuation of the 27-year-old which is posing to be a problem with negotiations.

Eriksen’s new contract would make him one of the highest paid players at the club on par with Dele Alli and Hugo Lloris, with only Harry Kane earning more.

Daniel Levy is refusing to allow Eriksen to leave the club next summer without signing a new deal.
