Spartak Moscow mock Tottenham and Birmingham City on social media

Tottenham overcame Brentford 2-0 in their Carabao Cup semi-final on Tuesday to set up a clash against Manchester City at Wembley in April.

Given that this is the first domestic cup final that the Lilywhites have reached since 2015, some Spurs fans on social media were understandably excited at the prospect of going to Wembley.

However, Spartak Moscow took the chance to poke fun at some Spurs fans on social media by questioning the importance of the competition.

The Russian club first posted the following response when asked who will lift the Carabao Cup.

When a Tottenham fan then responded with a picture of Ledley King and Robbie Keane holding aloft the League Cup trophy in 2008, Spartak joked that even Birmingham City had lifted the trophy.

The Russian Premier League side also noted that Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish had ‘liked’ their tweet which was disparaging of Spurs and Villa’s local rivals, Birmingham.
