Fiorentina Sporting Director, Daniele Prade, has claimed that reported Tottenham and Liverpool target Nikola Milenkovic has never said he wanted to leave the club.

These comments came after Milenkovic gave an interview on the Fiorentina website just last week, with some believing it to be an emotional final farewell.

However, Prade has now claimed that people were wrong to interpret the interview in such a way, revealing that Milenkovic never expressed an intention to leave in the quotes and has never expressed such a desire to Fiorentina either.

Despite this, the Fiorentina star has just one year left on his contract at the end of this season and Prade himself admitted last year that the player would be sold before he left on a free transfer.

It has been reported that both Tottenham and Liverpool have gone as far as to hold talks with Milenkovic’s agent ahead of any potential move for the player.

Prade said (DAZN – relayed by Labaro Viola): “The interview was misinterpreted. Milenkovic never said he wanted to leave and he told us that also, despite having one year on his contract.

“Nikola is a professional. He was keen to thank Florence for the growth he has had both as a man and as a footballer in this city.”

  1. Wasn’t really majorly aware as to Milenkovic being a main Spurs target, that said the vast majority of credible Tottenham targets being spoken of end up as little more than hot air in any case. We are then ‘gifted’ with players of questionable footballing pedigree’s simply because Levy is the football version of old “Ebeneezer” himself. And all we get are the rusty and rattling chains of THFC’s ghostly football past as a reminder of those glory glory days gone by!
