Sporting Lisbon make Pedro Porro decision for League Cup final v Porto

Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim has selected his side for this evening’s Portuguese League Cup final and has named Pedro Porro in his starting eleven to face FC Porto.

Porro lines up in the familiar role of right back in the Sporting side for the showpiece which is being held at the 23,888-capacity Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa in Leiria which was built as a venue for the UEFA Euro 2004 finals.

Amorim admitted in the build up prior to the match that Amorim would be part of his plans for the final despite heavy speculation that he is on the verge of a move to Tottenham Hotspur (Desporto Ao Minuto).

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed on Twitter yesterday that it is only a matter of time before Porro joins Tottenham and that it is very likely a deal will be completed by the end of the weekend.

Allowing Porro to play in the final will still leave three days for the final documents to be signed before deadline day on Tuesday, Spurs fans will certainly have one eye on this fixture in the hope that the Spanish international does not pick up an injury that could curtail his move.
