Spurs academy graduate demoted to U23s after disciplinary issues

Tottenham Hotspur have brought through some fantastic young academy players in recent years, with many of them still plying their trade in the Lilywhite shirt.

Harry Kane and Harry Winks stand out as the two prime first team examples that youngsters can break through from the youth ranks to the top level at Tottenham.

The likes of Kyle Walker-Peters, Luke Amos, Oliver Skipp, Kazaiah Sterling, Ryan Mason and many more are also a testament to the opportunities given to academy players at Spurs.

There have also been a number of high profile names to leave the club and have successful careers elsewhere, including Andros Townsend at Crystal Palace, or the likes of Jake Livermore, Tom Carroll, and more.

Nabil Bentaleb is a name some Spurs fans will remember fondly, and others will associate him with the manner in which he left North London.

Bentaleb fell out with boss Mauricio Pochettino after finding it difficult to break back into the first team after a spell out injured and subsequently transferred away from the club.

It appears that the academy graduate is in trouble again at his current club Schalke 04 after they tweeted yesterday that the player had been dropped to the U23s for ‘disciplinary reasons’.
