Spurs and Arsenal reported to be sending scouts to watch Croatia international

Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with a move for Croatia international goalkeeper Lovre Kalinic.

The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 65, Sunday, November 18, 2018). report that the 6ft 7in keeper is interesting Tottenham along with a host of Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Watford and Crystal Palace.

The 28-year-old is expected to line up in goal for Croatia for today’s Nations League match against England at Wembley where Premer League scouts will run the over him.

Kalinic has previously impressed against Tottenham having helped Gent to knock Mauricio Pochettino’s side out of the Europa League two seasons ago (2-3) on aggregate.

He has previously been on the verge of a switch to the Premier League when he was set to sign for Aston Villa in January 2016 (Birmingham Mail) but a move failed to materialise.

Spurs number one Hugo Lloris has suffered from major lapses of inconsistency this season with a notable error in the opening minutes in the visit of Barcelona in the Champions League which gifted Philippe Coutinho with a goal in the opening minutes.

Paulo Gazzaniga has impressed when given the chance to deputise for Lloris and appears to have moved ahead of Michel Vorm in the goalkeeping order at the club.

Vorm is out of contract in the summer and is widely tipped to be set to move on to pastures new after previously admitting he was ‘bored’ of not playing (Standard).
