Spurs and Liverpool rumoured to be keen on Llorente deal

A whole host of names have been linked with a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks and we are still over a month away from the January transfer window.

The latest name to be rumoured to be interesting Tottenham is Real Sociedad defender Diego Llorente.

According to Spanish news outlet Cadena Ser, Tottenham are among a host of clubs including Liverpool and Newcastle United who are keen to secure the services of the central defender.

The 25-year-old has a £26million release clause in his contract which in the modern age, is a reasonable fee for a full Spanish international.

There are still major doubts over the long term future of Toby Alderweireld at Spurs. The Belgian’s contract is due to expire this summer, but the club has the option of extending it by a further year. However, if they were to do so, the extension triggers another clause in the defender’s deal that makes him available for just £25m for a two-week period in the summer transfer window.
