Spurs announce a further North London derby will be played at new stadium

Tottenham Hotspur have revealed that the new stadium will host a match for its women’s side for the first time in history.

The Tottenham Hotspur women secured promotion to The Barclays FA Women’s Super League last season, which is the equivalent of the Premier League in men’s football.

They will take to the field at the new 62,062 capacity seater stadium on Sunday 17 November where they face Arsenal in the first North London derby of the season.

It is fantastic to see the club are embracing the women’s game and the fact that the fixture will be played at the Spurs stadium can only help to further grow interest in the team and sport in general following on from the women’s World Cup which has certainly sparked interest among the population.
