According to Ben Jacobs, Tottenham Hotspur have a ‘concrete interest’ in Georgiy Sudakov, and are leading the way when it comes to securing his signature this summer.

Tottenham are expected to be active in the transfer market in the coming months, as Ange Postecoglou looks to further upgrade his squad and put his own stamp on the team.

So far, Spurs have been linked with a number of players in pretty much every position on the pitch, but a name that’s gaining traction on the rumour mill is Georgiy Sudakov.

The Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder has caught the eye of a few Premier League clubs already, with The Daily Express claiming Spurs and Chelsea have been engaging in ‘frequent talks’ over the availability of the Ukraine star.

The player himself spoke to iNews recently about his ambitions of playing in the English top flight, and revealed that his compatriot, Mykhailo Mudryk, has warned him against such a move.

Is Sudakov heading for Spurs?

In a recent appearance on Bhavvss14’s YouTube channel, Ben Jacobs discussed the rumours around Sudakov ahead of the summer transfer window, and suggested Tottenham are the frontrunners, with Chelsea and Arsenal not nearly as interested.

Jacobs said: “Georgiy Sudakov could be one example of a player who is pitched to London clubs in particular. At the moment I’m told it’s Spurs who are the club with concrete interest. Chelsea rumours largely come from Mudryk, Arsenal aren’t thought to be in this conversation at this point.”

I’m not 100% sold on this idea of signing Sudakov. The fact that Chelsea and Arsenal are cooling their interest is a concern, and we saw what happened with Mudryk, too. It will be interesting to see how he performs at Euro 2024 before we dive into signing him.
