Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Tottenham are looking at midfielders ahead of the summer but revealed that he has not heard anything about the North London club’s rumoured interest in Adrien Rabiot.
Rabiot’s current deal at the Allianz Stadium runs out in June and it has been reported over recent weeks that several clubs have begun exploring the possibility of signing the Juventus star on a free transfer in the summer.
This includes an update from HITC a couple of weeks ago, which claimed that Tottenham are one of the clubs following the Frenchman’s situation closely ahead of the summer, with the outlet adding that Juve had not given up hopes of tying the player down to a new deal.
A few days ago, Spurs’ interest in the 28-year-old was backed up by Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness), who said that the Lilywhites were one of several clubs ‘testing the waters’ for the player ahead of the summer.

Fabrizio Romano has heard nothing about Rabiot to Spurs
However, Romano has now played down the speculation, insisting that he has not heard anything about ‘concert contacts’ between Spurs and the Bianconeri star.
The journalist said in his Daily Briefing column on CaughtOffside: “People at Spurs are monitoring midfielders in general and Adrien Rabiot could be a big opportunity for many clubs.
“Still, I’m not aware of concrete contacts between Tottenham and Rabiot for now. From what I heard, Rabiot will also give priority to talks with Juventus over a new deal before deciding his future.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I have been extremely sceptical of this transfer rumour since it first emerged as not only is Rabiot not of the right age for the Tottenham project but he is also not a great fit personality-wise for the kind of environment Postecoglou is trying to foster at Hotspur Way.
