Spurs are ‘ones to watch’ in race for 23-year-old striker – Journalist

Ben Jacobs has named Tottenham Hotspur the ‘ones to watch’ from the Premier League in the race for Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez.

On the back of two prolific seasons at De Kuip, it now looks increasingly likely that Gimenez will make the step up to a bigger club this summer, which some will feel has been a long time coming for the striker.

The Mexican continues to be heavily linked with a move to Tottenham, with various outlets suggesting over the last few weeks that the 23-year-old is at the top of the Lilywhites shortlist of striker targets for this summer (CaughtOffside).

However, Spurs are far from the only ones thought to be eyeing Gimenez, with Medio Tempo claiming last week that the likes of Arsenal, Juventus, AC Milan, and RB Leipzig are also circling over the centre-forward.

Spurs are ones to watch in Santiago Gimenez race

On Sunday, the Feyenoord star revealed through his social media post that he was in attendance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to watch the North London derby, with the development understandably getting a few Spurs fans quite excited.

When asked where he expects Gimenez to end up this summer, Jacobs has now told GiveMeSport: “I think from the Premier League, Tottenham are still the ones to watch, they’ve been tracking Gimenez since November. He’s a player that Ange Postecoglou in particular likes and thinks could fit their system.”

Spurs Web Opinion

While it would seem like Tottenham have expressed an interest in Gimenez, it is perhaps too early to predict confidently where the striker will end up. The Mexican international will certainly not be short of suitors this summer, with clubs across Europe likely to show interest.
